Every surfer can relate the the stoke of a new surfboard. If it goes good, friggin stoked, if it doesn’t… F%#$.
I’m loving this purple weapon shaped by Michael Cundith of MC Surf Designs (21 1/2", 2 1/2"). Flies. Versitile. Best as a Quad.
My photographic sparring partner Alex Frings and I went down to a very average NE corner. The light went soft. Shitty little double ups were hitting the bank. We were hoping for more. Luckily the ‘Purple People Eater’ got rid of the crowd, and I got to dance along a few faces, whilst Alex smiled and snapped a few moments.
Looking forward to getting it into some better waves soon. Spring in Byron isn’t that good waves wise. Tootaloo.

This new "Islander" model designed and sculptored by MC has a narrower tail than our Fish boards.
The Islander suits some surfers who do not get on with wide tails.
It is consequently extremely good in big surf and will also perform admirably in small surf.
Can be surfed as a Thruster, 4 fin , 5 fin or a Single fin - All variations work great.

This is for sure the best board I`ve ever had, top to bottom surfing and barrels are just so much easier on this thing, the mc 5 shaper fins went amazing when the surf was under four foot, any bigger then that I put in PC-5, fcs fins in, still went great in eight to nine foot barrels, like a dream actually with the PC-5's, the dimentions are- 5'10", 19''7/8, 2"3/8. I weigh about 85 kgs and 6'2" but this floats and paddles fantastic, the photos are on a square tail but I just picked up the same board but with a rounded egg pin tail, I think it should go even better on the real hollow days where I`ve been getting pitched for being to deep, no edge to catch at the back, yknow, your definetely onto a winner with that shape, congratulate Danny Wills on his design for me, and well done Michael Cundith, quality board, sign me up for another .

"In between the amazing waves of the weekend in Byron Bay, we got sent these surfing photo’s of our closest northern neighbour of Brunswick Heads, by local photographer Jarrah Linklater.
“It was a good session in ‘Bruns’ on Friday the 3rd of June, the waves were big and forming nicely. A few of the boys from Byron came up for the early morning dawn patrol to get some solid waves, taking some heavy close-outs and wipeouts.
The waves break off a a groyne, and with the heaving sweep and dangerous tidal flows, Jesse Bourke, Danny Wills, Jeremy Mitchel and Luke Kilpatrick made an incredible morning out of it, and certainly went home with some good waves and big smiles all around.”
